“The moon reflected on all she had seen for millions of years. And her conclusion, as ours will be— is luminous.”
–From “The Wisdom of Hafiz”

My Reflection:
It took me a while to “get” this…perhaps a few lifetimes..and perhaps I still haven’t fully “gotten it” or will return to a need to remember it and embrace it in my life. This beautiful koan included the following reminder:
“The master does not strive or chase. She is present and can welcome all things in their own time.”
How deeply relaxing — to let go of the striving and simply be one’s fully present and luminous self in each day. I add…..although the moon’s light is a reflection of the sun, she shines it uniquely and who doesn’t love to gaze upon that light. Bathed in a light we can look directly upon without blinding us she illuminates darkness like a beacon and a friend deeply moving the tides we hold within without even trying.

Focusing reminds us how to be a reflective presence for ourself and others like that!
